POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
- Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
- The SCGA's mask policy follows in accordance with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health. This is subject to change due to any local guidelines or site protocols. Click here to learn more.
REGISTRATION:
All players must register at the SCGA tent near the scoreboard outside of the clubhouse. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.
FORMAT:
Single Elimination Match Play (Net)
MONDAY, DECEMBER 13
- ROUND OF 16: Tee 1 – 7:00 a.m. start
- QUARTERFINALS: Tee 1 – 12:00 p.m. start
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14
- SEMIFINALS: Tee 1 – 7:00 a.m. start
- FINAL: Tee 1 – 12:00 p.m. start
All players will play to their Handicap Index as of December 1st, 2021. The SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s course handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and the match play bracket will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the tournament.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.

All hole-by-hole yardages can be found in the Event Portal above or by clicking Men's Yardages or Women's Yardages.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense by calling Goose Creek GC at (951) 735-3982 in advance of the date you wish to play, or book online in advance of the date you wish to play at goosecreekgc.com.
DRIVING RANGE:
The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. the morning of the championship. Players must obtain a token in the golf shop. Range balls will be provided compliments of Goose Creek GC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:
- The snack bar will be open from 6:30 a.m. until the conclusion of play. Cash and Credit Card charges will be accepted.
- The SCGA will be providing lunch for participants only on both championship days.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Automotive transportation is included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Automotive Transportation).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
AWARDS & TIES
A match that ends all square at the conclusion of 18 holes will be played off hole-by-hole until one side wins a hole. The playoff will start on Hole 1 and continue until decided.
After the conclusion of the final match, awards will be issued to the Match Play Champion, the Runner up, and the 2021 Player of the Year.
One-Day Series Match Play Championship Points Distribution:
- Champion - 350 Points
- Runner-Up - 250 Points
- Semifinals - 150 Points
- Quarterfinals - 100 Points
- Round of 16 - 50 Points
One-Day Series Player of the Year:
The Player of the Year award will be awarded to the participant with the highest point total after the Match Play Championship. (The winner of the Match Play Championship does not automatically win the Player of the Year.)
- One-Day Series Match Play Champion – Crystal trophy and a $500 Roger Dunn Gift Card
- One-Day Series Match Play Runner-up – Pewter plate and a $250 Roger Dunn Gift Card
- 2021 Player of the Year – Commemorative framed flag and a $750 Roger Dunn Gift Card
In the event of a tie for any place on the One-Day Series Points List, the tie shall be broken based on;
- Number of 2021 One-Day events participated in
- Best finish in a 2021 One-Day event
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
